Pima County Community College Desert Vista, USDA Project. PIMA COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE DESERT VISTA, USDA PROJECT. Non Technical Summary. The purpose of Project PATH (Plant, Assimilate, Till, Harvest) is to address PCCDV& #3. Hispanic students to completion of their degree and with extremely low rates of transfer to four- year baccalaureate programs. The audience for the project includes 7. PCC- DV students (existing and incoming) who have expressed an interest in agriculture related (associate) degree programs and career paths. PCCDV will, with USDA funds, sponsor one, high achieving, student to pursue his or her bachelor& #3. Products include the four - week summer Bridge program and workshops, recruitment strategies and materials, project website, clear degree career pathways tied to actual certificate and degree programs, a leadership development program to create second- year mentors, and dissemination materials. Outcomes include: 1) 9. Project PATH participants (who have not graduated or transferred) will be retained the following academic year; 3) By the end of year 4, 4. PATH participants will complete their program of study within four years; 4) By the end of year 4, 2. PATH participants will transfer into a baccalaureate program. The impact of the project will include: 1) Arizona will have additional highly- trained personnel to support high- demand, high- wage jobs in a variety of agriculture related industries; and 2) Agribusinesses and related agriculture industries will be able to expand their operations due to the availability of qualified personnel. A standard PCC report tracks student progress in particular programs, which includes GPA, enrollment /grades, and certificate/degree being sought. Other reports include student program intent, use of services such as tutoring, goal summaries, and progress toward certificate, degree, or transfer. Overall Project Evaluation Criteria. Course Enrollments - Derived from PCC student information system; demonstrates effectiveness of recruitment and bridge program (Tracked by PC)Bridge Completion - Obtained from PCC student information system; demonstrates effectiveness of academic and student support services (Tracked by PC)Program Completion & amp; Transfer - Derived from PCC student information system, which contains records of certificate completion and transfer rates; compared to baseline rates of completion and transfer (Tracked by PD)Student Retention Rates - Computed by Institutional Research based on entering cohorts of students; demonstrates whether program activities have measurable impact on retention among those served (Tracked by PD)Dissemination - Number of press releases, conference presentations and articles and web traffic recorded; demonstrates project impact (Tracked by PD)Student Satisfaction - Obtained through focus groups and satisfaction surveys; helps determine effectiveness of program in meeting student needs (Obtained by external evaluator and PD).
